About

Hello, friends!

I’m a creative director with 14+ years experience in the media industry. As a self-starter who forged an untraditional path with great success, I bring vision, enthusiasm, and an ability to command a room to every project.

I help brands ideate and tell their stories strategically and I have presented for (and led workshops for) top brands across the world. Keep scrolling to read my bio!

Who I am — my untraditional path

Hi there! I’m the founder of a creative communications company, QKatie, specializing in branded content regarding food, travel, and exploring curiosities. Global in its scope, in the past decade I’ve been based in NYC, London, Italy, and Toronto.

I’m often the presenter of video projects, and along those lines I’m frequently booked as a speaker. I’m also a twice-published author and podcast host. I think there is a story to be told everywhere and I believe that food connects people.

Much of my work — both branded and editorial — lives on the YouTube Channel QKatie. The books I’ve written are Cheese, Wine, and Bread (HarperCollins William Morrow April 2021), and the Avocados cookbook (Short Stack Editions 2017).

My slogan is Keep It Quirky because I think life is more enjoyable if you don’t take yourself too seriously!

“Keep It Quirky" is also the name of the podcast I host, and you can also hear me on the Food52 Podcast "Either Side Eaters," which I cohost. I’ve been a frequent guest on NBC's Today Show, a contestant on the Food Network's 'Chopped,' and a judge on 'Beat Bobby Flay.' I attended Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in Paris and I have my WSET Level 2 certification.

Before starting the QKatie brand, I worked for NBC as a Page (yes, like Kenneth from the show 30 Rock!), as a producer at the TODAY show, as a writer for Serious Eats, and as a VJ for NowThis News.
